SEAHAWKS TICKET GIVEAWAY
Be Whale Wise, Win Seahawks Tickets
Dive into the world of Southern Resident Killer Whales and be a hero for these magnificent creatures! The Salish Sea is their playground, and you can be their guardian. The Southern Resident orcas are a one-of-a-kind community, thriving on salmon and living in tight-knit family pods. But they need our help!
Beginning Jan 1, 2025, in Washington State waters, boats must not approach SRKW within 1,000 yards (1/2 nautical mile) and must stop movement if they end up within 400 yards of SRKW. The new rules apply to all recreational boaters in Washington waters, including paddle craft like kayaks and paddleboards. While these new regulations only apply to the “resident” fish eating SRKW (not Bigg’s transient orcas), the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) encourages boaters to stay far away from all killer whales. You can review the complete set of boating rules related to SRKW, Biggs or Transients and other whales in Washington State at www.BeWhaleWise.org or visit the Be Whale Wise display at West 56.
Swing by the Be Whale Wise – Soundwatch Booth and take the pledge to support these amazing animals by being a responsible boater and you could score tickets to catch the Seattle Seahawks live in action during the 2025 season!
