Keith Robbins, owner of A Spot Tail Salmon in Seattle, will provide tips and secrets on how to catch salmon with one of the oldest techniques that was first used by the Japanese Americans in Elliott Bay and Puget Sound way before and right after World War II. Robbins is one of the last fishing guides to strictly use this way of catching salmon in Puget Sound. Feeling the “bite” with your salmon rod in hand as the fish takes your bait is one of the most exciting ways to hook a fish.

Capturing a piece of the big and mighty run of Chinook, aka King, salmon off the coast can be an equally big and mighty challenge for many fishing enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest. With miles upon miles of water to cover, changing ocean conditions, and varying feeding and migratory patterns of both salmon and the baitfish they are chasing, success in this fishery can be challenging. Tune in to this seminar to hear from Raymarine and Defiance Boats Pro Staffer Captain Tommy Donlin as he breaks down this fishery for you to have succcess.

Typically done near shorelines and in very shallow water, fishing both top-water and sinking flies with both floating and sinking lines, this is an experience like no other! Join Captain Keith Robbins and his Puget Sound fishing experience of over 50 years as he goes through what it takes to catch sea-run cutthroat trout on the saltwater. He’ll cover places to be, tactics, strategies, tackle, and more. Don’t miss hearing about this unique fishery.
