It's "Bring Your Dog to The Boat Show" Day!

Leash up your furry first mate and head to the show on Thursday, February 8 for Dogs on Deck, sponsored by the Port of Seattle!

Your dog(s) can stroll the red carpets with you, get a photo in the Photo Booth, have a custom dog tag made and sniff out their favorite boats – all taking place at West Hall Booth #80.

No special ticket is required for your dog to attend, but adults accompanying dogs to the show will need a valid admission ticket. We also ask dog owners to fill out a quick waiver either in advance HERE or at show entrances, provided.

Meet Eba, the Celebrity Orca-Scat-Sniffing Dog (4:00-6:00 pm. – Photo Booth)

Eba, a pitbull-corgi-terrier-mix rescue has been featured on the BBC, PBS, Netflix and DisneyPlus. Eba works alongside her owner, killer whale research biologist Dr. Deborah Giles (aka Giles) of Wild Orca to sniff out orca scat. The scat tells the story of the challenges the orcas are facing—from toxicity and stress levels to reproductive health and more.  Any day of the year, when weather allows and the Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW) are in the Salish Sea, Eba and Giles go out on Wild Orca’s research boat from their homeport of Snug Harbor on the west side of San Juan Island.

From Poop to Policy – What Feces Can Tell Us About the Health of the Endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales. (3:00-3:30 pm. Seminar Stage 3)

Eba and Giles will also be giving a special presentation about how Eba’s efforts contribute to Wild Orca’s life-saving work to help protect the endangered SRKW. Giles is one of the world’s leading experts on SRKW. The presentation will highlight Wild Orca’s conservation research and offer ways for the public to get involved with actions and activities that can help the whales.
